Dare to believe

Dare to believe there’s a song in your heart
Dare to believe in your dreams
Nothing can stop you from playing your part
As long as you dare to believe

Too many people hold themselves back
When they should be reaching out
Too many people on the wrong track
Led astray by a seed of doubt

We don’t have to live that way
Sun is up on a brand new day!!!

So dare to believe ……..

Too many people say its allright
Never see a need to change
Too many people hide in their lives
Underneath a cloud of pain

We don’t have to bow our heads
Lift ‘em up sing with joy instead
And dare to believe……..

And there’s no time
Like the present time
I’m gonna go
Non stop, Right now
I’ve found something that I know is mine!

So dare to believe……..

  1. I remember this song from the Alice stage play in the 80's. I was just a kid. Really young. But the opening lines never left me. How do you know this song!?

  2. When I started practicing Nichiren Buddhism in 1986, someone gave me a copy of a cassette with the songs from the play. I loved them so much. Then I super fortunate to be able see a copy of a video of the actual activity shortly after. In fact, we YWD in Vancouver sang and performed a dance to Dare to Believe. Happy times for me. 33 years later, I am still moved and deeply encouraged by this song. I hope you are still connected to Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, Unknown. Im inspired to write something here because of your comment. Be well.

  3. And Nikki, Thank you for this post. One small correction..."so many people hiding their light." The Cheshire Cat's voice is Mr. Richard Causton, the first General of SGI-UK and Vice-President of Europe. He was a great man.
